Today on Sky Sports Racing: Ascot stages Royal Ascot Trials Day with Newcastle also live on Friday

We have a busy day's racing on Friday with Flat action from Ascot and Newcastle, live on Your Site Racing...

A stellar renewal of the Gold Cup trial - the Longines Sagaro Stakes - sees the evergreen Sweet William and Caballo De Mar among a field of nine.

John and Thady Gosden's Sweet William enjoyed another solid season last year winning the Doncaster Cup for a second time before chasing home Trawlerman at Ascot. That form entitles him to be the pick here, but he may prove vulnerable on his first outing for a while.

George Scott's Caballo De Mar has race fitness on his side having finished runner-up in the Dubai Gold Cup 34 days ago and last season's Prix du Cadran victor merits respect despite shouldering a Group One penalty.

Tabletalk and Tarriance are closely matched on their Meydan form and remain unexposed at staying trips.

A competitive edition of the Group Three Commonwealth Cup Trial where Middle Park scorer Wise Approach concedes weight all round.

Charlie Appleby's three-year-old rounded off an excellent 2025 campaign with a game success in the Newmarket Group One and looks the one to beat under William Buick.

Aidan O'Brien saddles Brussels who has three-quarters of a length to find with the favourite and is a rock-solid place chance under Ryan Moore.

Coppull claimed the Group Two Richmond Stakes at Goodwood and was just a short head behind Brussels at Newmarket. Clive Cox took this prize with Jasour in 2024 and he rates a huge player under Rossa Ryan.

An open feel to the Listed Paradise Stakes sees Remmooz, Jonquil and Rashabar feature among eight runners.

Owen Burrows' Remmooz stepped forward with every start last summer, winning four of his six races. He caught the eye when finishing fourth in the Jersey Stakes at this track back in June and was last seen knuckling down well to see off Volterra in Listed company at Newbury. The step up to mile may bring out further progress.

Jonquil has been given some stiff assignments since landing the Greenham on his return last spring and only narrowly failed to claim top-level success in the French Guineas this time last year. He proved disappointing in Abu Dhabi in February and will hope to bounce back under Colin Keane.

Rashabar, second behind Jonquil in the Greenham, endured a frustrating 2025 campaign but ran with credit on more than one occasion and the drop to a mile is worth noting.

2.00 Ascot - Two-year-old trial with Brocklesby first and second A Bear Affair and Dance A Jig facing debut winner Adaay Of Scarlett.

4.55 Ascot - Three-year-old heat where So Regal could be exciting for the Gosden and Moore combination.

5.30 Ascot - Strong 0-95 where several have claims including Greek Order, Dosman and Angel Hunter. Saytarr bids for a four-timer.

Churchill Downs - Grade One Kentucky Oaks - Ashland Stakes one-two Percy's Bar and Zany clash again!

11.56 Churchill Downs - Grade One La Troienne Stakes.

2.50 Saint-Cloud - Group Two Prix Du Muguet with Hugo Palmer's Seagulls Eleven among a decent field.

3.25 Saint-Cloud - Excellent Group Three over a mile and a quarter where Juddmonte filly Sunly returns for Francis-Henri Graffard.

5.53 Newcastle - Last-time winner The Cursor will have obvious claims.

6.30 Newcastle - Haggas runner Eklleem looks to go one better Well-bred Eljowhary debuts.
